| Signed by Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1998 and made ML debut in 1992. Shipped to Montreal in November of 1993 for Delino DeShields. Almost four years later to the date (November, 1997) he was traded to the Boston Red Sox for Carl Pavano and Tony Armas Jr. Is a three-time Cy Young Award winner (1997, 1999, 2000), win the AL pitching Triple Crown in 1999, and was also the All-Star game MVP that same season at Fenway Park. Has led the majors in ERA five times and is also tops among active players at 2.58 ERA. Went 14-4 with a 2.22 ERA in 2003, helping Boston advance to the ALCS. |
