Biography:
The New York Yankees acquired right handed pitcher Sam Marsonek from the Texas Rangers organization in December of 1999. The deal also involved pitcher Brandon Knight being sent to the Yankees and Chad Curtis being sent to the Rangers in return. Marsonek was drafted in the first round by Texas back in 1996 (24th overall) but struggled for most of his time in the Texas organization. However, the Yankees hope that this former first round draftee can finally live up to advanced billing.
