Austin "Bubba" Jones, the seventh round draft pick of the New York Yankees in the 2011 MLB Draft, has signed and begun play in his first season in professional baseball. Putting up blistering hitting numbers in his senior year in high school, the 18-year old is in an adjustment period but has loved every second of playing in the Gulf Coast League in Tampa, FL.

Austin Jones, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound first basemen, catcher and pitcher finished up his 2011 senior season at Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington in grand fashion. Jones batted a staggering .568 with a .667 on-base percentage in his senior season while also adding 39 RBIs that set a school record. He also finished with eight home runs and 42 hits.
