Despite moving up the minor leagues in a hurry, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees right-handed reliever Chase Whitley was not always just a pitcher. Back during his college days at Southern Union Community College in Alabama and Division I Troy University, the 22-year-old spent more time patrolling the field as a third baseman than he did pitching.

Whitley's days as a two-way player concluded when the Yankees selected the right-hander in the 15th round (475th overall pick) of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. And while Whitley could definitely swing the stick a bit [in his lone season at Troy in 2010, he led his team in hitting with a .364 batting average, 86 hits, 60 runs, 11 doubles, 3 triples, 10 home runs and 56 RBIs through 5...
