Healthy Santana Opens Season

Health is not one of his concerns anymore

STATEN ISLAND, NY - Ravel Santana debuted in Staten Island Yankees pinstripes for their season opener despite suffering an ugly ankle injury last season that ended his terrific year in the Gulf Coast League. All signs indicate his health is back to normal, meaning Santana can continue honing his five-tool skills.

"He had a pretty bad injury last year and he came back from it pretty quick," Staten Island manager Justin Pope said, "a lot quicker than what the training staff thought he was going to, and he had a great Extended [Spring Training]."
