CHARLESTON, SC - Playing in his first season with the RiverDogs and despite getting off to a very slow start, Daniel Camarena has recently become one of Charleston's best pitchers. The 21-year old has only given up one run in his last five games.

Camarena was selected by the New York Yankees in the 20th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, California. Before appearing on Charleston's roster, the 6-foot pitcher played with the GCL Yankees in Tampa, Florida where he had posted a 1.02 ERA.
