Whitley Succeeding After Delayed Start

MOOSIC, PA – It took some time to get going, but Chase Whitley has gotten himself into a good rhythm. The 24-year-old missed the first month and a half of the season with an oblique injury suffered at the end of Spring Training. With that injury now in the rear view mirror, Whitley is coming into his own during his second season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

"[The season] obviously started slow with the injury," he said. "Then once I got up here, I had to play a little catch-up because guys were in mid-season form already. But everything's been going pretty good." Whitley has appeared in 19 games this season and is 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.
