Mesa Streaking Since Return To Scranton

MOOSIC, PA – Melky Mesa has always said that he doesn't want to just get to the big leagues. He wants to stay there. Mesa got his second career promotion to New York July 20 and played in five games with the Yankees before being sent back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Aug. 4. Although his second stint with New York was short-lived as well, Mesa's confidence hasn't been deterred.

"(The game felt) the same," Mesa said of his time in New York. "I just tried to take advantage of every at-bat and do what I do. I'm just trying to play the game." Mesa not only played in his brief time with the Yankees, but he contributed. In five games, three of which were starts, Mesa hit .385 (5-for-13) with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored.
