Austin Focused On Next Season

Tyler Austin didn't want to take any chances

Outfielder Tyler Austin missed nearly six weeks of action this year with a bone bruise in his wrist, an injury he had initially tried to play through. He made his way back by season's end and was trying to make up for lost time in the Arizona Fall League this offseason but rather than push it, he and the Yankees have decided to focus all of the attention on next season.

"My wrist was picking up again, just a little bit, nothing major, but we wanted to make sure everything was okay with it," Austin said. "It was and now we want to make sure I'm 100 percent healthy for the start of next season. "It was sore, nothing to be too concerned about. The results [of the MRI and x-ray] were good.
