The New York Yankees traded for pitcher Scott Proctor in a deal that involved Robin Ventura being sent to Los Angeles on July 31, 2003. Proctor was drafted by Los Angeles in the 5th round (156th overall) out of Florida State in the 1998 Draft. Right out of college Proctor was highly touted by scouts as a future top flight big league relief pitcher. After a rough go of it in his first three seasons in the minors, Proctor has since settled in to do nothing to prove the praise of the scouts wrong.
