Storen Says: Stanford Over Yankees

RHP Drew Storen

The midnight deadline is almost here for MLB clubs to sign their draft selections made in June. Righthanded pitcher Drew Storen was taken by the New York Yankees and made an offer, but he tells The Bootleg today that it is not enough to sway him from his Stanford plans.

Drew Storen, a 6'1" RHP/1B from Brownsburg (Ind.) High School, was rated as a prospect who could be taken in the early rounds of 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.  He fell, however, to the 34th round (#1050 overall, New York Yankees) due to signability concerns given his commitment to play college baseball at Stanford.
