Melancon Takes Aim For The Majors

Melancon struck out three more batters on Thurs.

By now, Mark Melancon has hushed every critic that predicted a slow return from Tommy John Surgery. As the right-hander climbs through the farm system, he's dominated the competition along the way and with a strong performance for Triple-A Scranton, he'll be in line for a late season promotion.

"I always have goals in everything I do," said Melancon, "and usually they are all about getting to the next level, so right now my biggest goal is to get to the big leagues. "It'd be awesome to pitch in Yankee stadium. That's what I'm here for, that's what I'm going for. I think I can do it, but I have to prove myself here."
