McAllister Moving Up the Charts

With a strong start to the 2009 Eastern League season, Trenton Thunder's Zach McAllister is moving up the charts and is now considered a top pitching prospect for the New York Yankees. In 14 starts, the 6-foot-6 right-handed pitcher has a record of 5-3 with a league-leading 1.79 ERA. In 80 2/3 innings of work, McAllister has struck out 66 while walking only 23 batters.

After breaking into the minors in 2006 with a 5-2 record with the GCL Yankees, Zach McAllister didn't have the same success in 2007 with Staten Island, as he posted a 4-6 record with a 5.17 ERA while giving up 80 hits over 71 1/3 innings.
