The Yankees drafted third baseman Brandon Laird in the 27th round of the 2007 MLB Draft out of Cypress College. The brother of Detroit Tigers catcher Gerald Laird continues to prove two things in the organization - that his power is legit and that he is always trying to fight his way back from slow starts.
